Civil Society Acts Beyond Borders

This website has been created as part of Human Rights and Reconciliation – Civil Society Acts Beyond Borders project number EIDHR/2009/167-502, implemented by Future Worlds Center (leg. Reg: Cyprus Neuroscience & Technology Institute) from January 2010 until December 2012 and is co-funded by the European Commission, European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR).

Nov 2011 : Anna_Lindh_award

Future Worlds Center has ranked second in the prestigious Euro-Med Award for the Dialogue between Cultures. FWC was also awarded an  Honourable Mention for the highly-esteemed work on intercultural dialogue for the promotion of freedom and citizenship in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The Euro-Med Award for the Dialogue between Cultures is a prestigious award given by the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures, an organisation operating in 43 countries having over a 3000 organisational members, founded to honor Anna Lindh for her pioneer work.

Announcement for Training of Trainers

CSABB enters the second year of activities: a Training of Trainers will bring together 14 local trainers, 7 from Israel and 7 from Palestine to work together developing skills in areas such as: civil society strenghtening, organizational development and capacity building. The participants will form the pool of trainers that will conduct the Basic and Advanced Open Civil Society Organization Training Workshops in Israel and Palestinian Territories. The aim is to increase capacity of local CSOs to resolve conflict and enhance collaboration for common goals. At the end of the training participants should be able to deliver interactive trainings in an enjoyble and effective way.

The first phase of the training course will take place in the West Bank in Talitha Kumi Educational Centre, Beit Jala, near Bethlehem on 28th July 2011 (Thursday) to 30st July (Saturday) 2011: the second one will be lead in Kyrenia, Cyprus on 14th September 2011 (Wednesday) to 20th September (Tuesday) 2011.
